Out with the old, in with the new

Very quickly C and I determined we weren't in love; however, we loved the idea of each other. Our relationship was built on trauma, and everything in-between was just more of. We worked together to elevate ourselves, and when that process was complete, the universe forced us apart. We had different plans and that was okay, it was sad, but we were okay with it. I remember the day I left, he fought with me the entire night before because he wanted me to stay with him, but I had to go. We cried together and just hugged. I remember whispering into his ear "C, don't do anything I wouldn't do." And then I left. That was the last I saw and heard from him.
